What is the AHSGE and What Does It Mean to You?
The AHSGE, or Alabama High School Graduation Exam, is a vital part of obtaining a high school diploma in the state of Alabama. The AHSGE makes sure high school students are ready to enter the high tech world and are ready to meet the challenges ahead of them.
The AHSGE is a multiple choice test and it has five subjects: reading, language, social studies, science and math. Alabama high school students will have six opportunities to take and pass the AHSGE, from the 10th to the 12th grades.
The Alabama Department of Education mandates this test, the AHSGE, and any student hoping to get a high school diploma is required to take and pass the test with satisfactory scores. Here are a few helpful hints that high school students can use when preparing for and taking the AHSGE:
Don't worry – Stress can only make it more difficult to think when you are taking the AHSGE. All of the information in the exam you should have already covered so don't get overly concerned with studying.
Don't rush – the vital AHSGE is not a timed test so you don't have to be concerned with how long it takes you to answer questions.
Read carefully – when you read the directions in each section of your AHSGE, make sure you read very carefully and look for changes in the directions.
Answer all of the questions – even if you don't know the answer to a question on the AHSGE, give it your best guess. If you don't answer the question it is automatically incorrect, if you guess at it you at least have a chance of getting it right.
