Continental
Academy Announces Web-Based Program Enhancements
(Miramar, FL – 01 June 2006):
The faculty and administration of Continental Academy is pleased
to announce the launch of the first in a series of world wide
web based academic program enhancements for students enrolled
in its high school completion programs. Beginning July 4, 2006,
all students who indicate an e-mail address on their program
application will received log-in account and password information
with their initial set of study materials. Using this information,
students will be able to securely log-on to a web database and
access their program records.
The vast majority of our students are working adults, said Continental Academy
Principal, Lee Taylor. “To provide them the best possible service, we must
give them access to the program information they are most interested in any time
they wish to view it, in a secure manner that protects their privacy. If a student
ever has a question about whether or not we have their most current address or
contact information or if we’ve received their last tuition payment or
graded their last test, they needn’t wait until our phone lines are open
during normal business hours. They will be able to log-on anytime (24/7) and
see what their record contains for themselves.”
Students will be able to view their contact information, payment information
and academic progress data without having to make a toll-free telephone call.
This is just the first step in an overall effort to enhance the student program
experience through web-based tools. By the end of the year, students will be
able to download course textbooks and supplemental curricula. They’ll even
be able to test their knowledge by taking online practice tests. By the summer
of 2007, they will be able to enroll online and make tuition payments (by credit
card). Online testing and transcript requests are also planned for delivery by
mid 2007.
We pride ourselves in offering programs that let a student work at his or her
own pace, added Dr. Frederic Hartford, Director of Guidance. “Using world
wide web tools will mean enhanced access to the kinds of information and resources
that will allow a student to accelerate his or her pace and successfully reach
academic goals more quickly.”
